This portrait I did for a show called "Players". The show required painting a portrait of a contributing member of society. I chose to paint Nate who owns a mechanic shop in Provo called Car Doctors. I painted this piece almost life size, it stands at about 5'8'', I painted it with oil on masonite board. I cut it out so it looks like those stand up cardboard celebrity cutouts you see at stores. (Like Justin Bieber below)
When it was in my studio, my wife and others would walk by and get scared that there was someone there. My plan is to make portraits of my family (My wife, my child and myself) all life size and all cut out.
